Just to recap, the MRI on the 9th showed no change at all to the remaining tumor. We had a good conversation with Dr. Reddy about possible chemotherapy options. Because the tumor is rare, and very rare in children, there's really no odds she could give us on the success rate of shrinking the tumor with chemo. Also, chemotherapy works best on aggressive, malignant tumors. So we're not sure if it's even worth it to try on a benign tumor. Hate to put Sterling through sickness for nothing. Still processing chemo as an option.
Which has lead us to request a meeting with Dr. Wellons, our neurosurgeon. We're 5 months post surgery and want to ask some questions about his timeline for another resection. What are the risks to Sterling's health? We know he doesn't want to operate until there's no other option. What does that mean? How many months or years does he want to wait before he makes that call? In general, we just have questions that we want to ask as we're praying for direction on what to do about Sterling's seizures/health.
Please continue to pray for us to know the Lord's wisdom and peace in this journey. Our appointment with Dr. Wellons is Monday the 22nd at 9am.
Always thankful for your prayers...
